Auburn Commit Headed To Florida For Final High School Season
Spain Park High School of Hoover, Alabama has learned that their star basketball player, 6-foot-11 Austin Wiley has decided to play his final season of high school ball in Florida. Wiley's mother, Vickie Orr Wiley confirmed with AL.com that the decision was not easy for her son, “Trust me, it was not an easy decision. Austin is a kid who loved Spain Park and his teammates. At some point, for him to stay on this path, we as a family saw a need to help him step up and do the right things so he can be successful." Unknown is what school in the Sunshine state, Wiley will play his final high school season for although with the surge of basketball academies opening up throughout the nation, Florida's Montverde Academy could be Wiley's final high school destination. Spain Park's head basketball coach, Donnie Quinn told AL.com that he understands the Wiley family's decision for Austin to forego his final season with the Jaguar's however he did note that he was disappointed. “It’s now, ‘How do I improve myself for the next level as fast as I can?’ Quinn said adding, “I understand it’s a family decision, and they want to do what’s best for their child. It’s been a great blessing to coach him. We’re going to support him no matter what he does.”
