Tennis In Full Swing As Chamblee and St. Pius Face Off
On Monday, the Chamblee Bulldogs Tennis team visited the St. Pius Golden Lions. The Golden Lions came into the match up regarded as one of the stronger tennis teams in the area but it did not stop the Bulldogs from picking up wins in girls Singles 1 as Olena Bulikha won in two sets by a score of 6-2 in both.
Chamblee's Leeza Ershstein also picked up a win for the Bulldogs in Singles 3 winning 6-0 and 6-1. The Chamblee Girls team would go on to win 4-1. The Bulldogs Boys Team also picked up the 3-2 win which included wins in the Boys Double 1 when Mana Mathews and Dixon Hill teamed up to take two of three sets, 6-4, 0-6, 10-8, to get the win in that match up. Chamblee's Chase Starks also battled back in a tie breaker set after being down 2-7 in the third set. Starks would win 8 points straight to take the tie breaker in Singles 1.
Another big win for the Bulldogs came in the Girls Singles 1 when Madison Trinh was able to take the second and third sets, 6-1 and 10-3, to get the win in the match up.
