Wolverines Improve To 7-2, Sweep Singles As Walker Defeats St. Pius 4-1

On Thursday, the Walker Wolverines hosted the St. Pius Golden Lions and looked to extend their current win streak to three. The Wolverines got off to a great start Sr. Clay Jones would win the Singles 1 in two sets 6-2 and 6-0.

The Wolverines would follow Jones' win with a victory in the Doubles 1 as Jr. Chris Malmberg and Sr. William Blakely would take 2-3 sets, winning the first 6-1, losing the second 7-5, and taking the tie breaker 10-4, giving Walker the second win of the day.

Juniors Sammy Sawyer (6-2 and 6-2) and Brett Morrison (6-4 and 6-4) would help the Wolverines sweep the singles competition as Morrison would take Singles 1 and Sawyer would hold the advantage in Singles 2. The Doubles 2 would be the only loss on the day for the Wolverines as they improve to 7-2.
