On Tuesday, the Grady Lady Knights played host the Lithia Springs Lady Lions, as the Lions looked to improve to .500 on the season while looked remain close to 5A Region 6 leader Decatur, who the Knights only trailed by a game in the region going into Tuesday’s contest. With the game underway, the Lady Knights would strike first when #13 So. Courtney Martin would score her first of four goals off the assist by #9 Fr. Kaitlin Palaian to give Grady the early 1-0 lead with 31:41 to go in the first half.
After the Martin goal, only a minute and nineteen seconds would tic off the clock before Grady’s #22 would score off the #14 Jr. Tappan Wood assist as the Knights would take a 2-0 lead with 30:22 to go in the half. As play continued, Martin would score her second goal of the game with 24:53 remaining as Grady would take a commanding 3-0 lead.
The Knights would pick up two more goals before the end of the half courtesy of #18 So. Anna Tischer and Palaian as Grady would take a 5-0 lead into the locker at the half. As the second half begin, Martin would kick her third goal of the game just 1:33 into the half and the Knights would go up 6-0 with 38:27 to go in the game.
After Palaian picked her second of three goals in the game, Grady would be up 7-0 and 2:34 later, Martin would score her fourth goal of the game as the Knights would go up 8-0 with 31:09 to go in the game. After taking a 9-0 lead with 28:34 to go, Palaian would score her third goal of the game to give Grady a 10-0 lead which would force the end of the game with 14:41 to go. Grady improves to 6-1 in the Region and 8-5-1 overall.
