Raiders Outlast Trojans As Riverwood Improves To 16-3 With 5-3 Win Over Banneker

On Monday 3/27/17 the Riverwood Raiders at 15-3 hit the road to face off against a struggling Banneker Trojans team that stands at 2-10. The Raiders have been red hot on the road with an impressive 7-0 record. Coming off a strong 11-1 win against the North Atlanta Warriors, the Raiders knew the Trojans were going to go quietly. Entering the bottom of the 3rd Banneker came out swinging. With a solid 3-0 start, after some errant throws from Riverwood’s starting pitcher Brett Thomas. This allowed Banneker's #4 and #7 to steal home on back to back at bats. This did not slow up the Raiders as they started to rally a comeback beginning with #4 Dawson Vainer deep RBI single that scored #2 Griffin Brown in the top of the 4th inning. After an error by the infield and #21 Keino Robinson getting HBP the bases were loaded with no outs. With #14 Connor Sewell coming up to bat for the Raiders, the Trojans would be facing the possibility of Riverwood potentially tying the game . Connor managed to hit a deep sacrifice fly to center field that allowed a runner from the Raiders to score. The Trojans were able to get out of that inning with 2 runs allowed.

Riverwood went on to win the game 5-3 this pushes them up to 16-3 as they improve to 8-0 on the road. For the Banneker Trojans another loss gives them 2-11 record, they will look forward for a rematch as they hit the road against the Raiders Wednesday 3/29/17.
