2 Players Connect On Four Goals, Lovett Improves To 10-1 With 16-5 Win Over Wesleyan

Friday night the Lovett Lions hosted the Wesleyan Wolves as the Lions looked to another one to the 'W' column. Lovett would jump out to an early 2-0 lead after both #1 So. Fulton Bayman (4 goals) and #15 Sr. Bailey Taylor (4 goals) would score back to back goals. The Wolves would answer back and make it a 2-1 Wesleyan's #32 Jr. Rawley Smith would strike with 9:02 remaining in the first period.

With 8:09 to go in the first, Lovett's Taylor would score his second goal of the game giving the Lions a 3-1 lead and they would score nine unanswered points to take an 11-1 at the half. As the second half got underway, the Lions would start things off just as they did in the first half by scoring the first two goals of the half, taking a commanding 13-1 lead.

The Wolves' would eventually strike in the third quarter including two goals by #13 Jr. Garrett Hangartner as Wesleyan trailed 14-3 at the end of the third period. In the fourth, Lovett's #8 So. Cooper Higgins would snag his second goal of the game giving the Lion's a 15-3 lead and going on to win by a final score of 16-5 improving to a very impressive 10-1 record on the season.

A win against Darlington this coming Monday, April 3rd could set up a potential battle of one loss teams when the Lions visit the 11-1 Westminster Wildcats next Friday.
