Four Star Recruit Braden Lenzy Backs Out Of Notre Dame To Stay Home With Ducks
On Wednesday, four star recruit Braden Lenzy announced that he would opt out of his commitment to Notre Dame and remain in his home state of Oregon to play football and run track for the Ducks. Back in February, Lenzy, Class of 2018 from Tigard High School out of Portland, Oregon, committed to Notre Dame as Brian Kelly was looking to reload the Irish. Lenzy made his announcement via Twitter on Wednesday saying, "In the interest of my future in both football and track I have decided to decommit from Notre Dame." Lenzy added, "It was a very difficult decision, but one that was best for me." Lenzy also went on to credit Notre Dame as a "first class university" and that his decision to recant from joining the Irish was not a reflection on the University. With Lenzy ranked as the No. 3 player in his class, his move to join the Ducks ranks Oregon the 10th ranked class of 2018 according to 247. The addition of Lenzy also gives the Ducks a total of seven four star recruits.
