On Friday, news broke that 4-Star cornerback Jaylen Armour-Davis of St. Paul’s Episcopal School in Mobile, Alabama had made the decision to stay in his home state and join University of Alabama’s 2018 recruiting class. The 6 foot, 160 pound Armour-Davis narrowed his choices to Auburn and the Tide but said that his decision “had nothing to do with football.” Armour-Davis told 247 Sports that “With Alabama, it’s really just the system with me being from Alabama, specifically in Mobile. It’s just great connections if football doesn’t work out for me.” Armour-Davis is said to have “incredible athleticism and a frame he can grow into at the next level,” according to 247 Sports’ Cam Smith. Should Armour-Davis follow through with his commitment to Alabama, he would be joining his first cousin, Chadarius Townsend, a 2017 signee.
