Ryse Williams, Loyola Marymount Signee, Dies Day Before High School Graduation

On Thursday, Ryse Williams, a Loyola Marymount signee, died due to complication of cancer. Williams, who was set to graduate from Redondo Union High School in Redondo Beach, California on Thursday, had been battling the disease and became ill a few weeks ago. Williams committed to LMU in July of 2016 and signed his letter of intent in November of the same year. LMU head coach Mike Dunlap expressed his sympathy in a statement stating, "I send my heartfelt sympathy on behalf of our program and my staff to the family of Ryse." Dunlap added, "as good of a basketball player as he was, it was his personality and character that stood above all!" Redondo Union said that they plan to honor Ryse during Friday's graduation ceremony.
