[Watch] Lady Panthers 3-0 Sweep Of Lady Hornets As Langston Hughes Defeats South Atlanta

On Tuesday, the Langston Hughes Lady Panthers varsity volleyball team played host to the South Atlanta Lady Hornets in a pre-season scrimmage. The Lady Panthers took to the court under new leadership in first year head coach Ashley Brooks. In the first set, the Lady Panthers would jump out to an early 5-1 lead and coast to a 25-11 win.

As the second set got underway, South Atlanta looked to have more of the advantage as they would take a 8-5 lead but the Lady Panthers would eventually tie the set at 10 a piece and then take a 14-12 lead. After going up 16-12 and forcing the Lady Hornets to use a timeout, Langston Hughes would go on to win the second set by a final score of 25-17.

In the third and final set, the Lady Panthers looked refreshed as they jumped out to a 10-1 lead and would go on to win the final set 25-13 completing the sweep of South Atlanta. Following the game, Langston Hughes head coach Ashley Brooks talked about the growth she has seen in her players and told PSN how she is excited about this year's team, especially how they have "bonded together."
