Westlake Lions Softball Cruise to 16-5 Win In Season Opener

On Friday, the Westlake Lady Lions softball team hosted the visiting South Atlanta Hornets and with Sr. pitcher Zamiyah Williams on the mound, the Lady Lions would jump out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom on the third inning.

In the top of the second inning Williams and the Lions would hold the Hornets scoreless as their offense would resume action at the plate, picking up eight run in the bottom of the second inning including an RBI double by So. shortstop Zaquia Dumas as Westlake would go up 11-0.

Despite the Hornets picking up three runs in the third inning and two more in the fourth inning, the Lady Lions would go on to pick up the 16-5 victory to start off the season. Watch highlights from the game below now!
