Westlake Lions Roar Back For 41-20 Win Over Milton Eagles In "Challenge" Weekend Finale
Saturday night, the Fulton County Gridiron Challenge capped off the weekend with host school the Westlake Lions facing the Milton Eagles out north Fulton County. The Eagles would jump out to an early 13-0 lead after Jr. quarterback Jordan Yates would throw two touchdown passes including an 85 yard strike to Nick Solley.
The Lions would eventually get on the score board and make it a 13-10 Eagles lead after Westlake's Myles Farmer would connect with Jalen Simmons for the touchdown. The Lions would later tie the game at 13 a piece after a field goal with 5:09 remaining in the first half.
Milton however would regain the lead after new quarterback, Marcel Parks would fake out the defense on the keeper for the score to put the Eagles up 20-13. The Lions would threaten to score once more themselves, potentially tying the game at the half but Milton would come up with the interception in the end zone as the second quarter came to an end.
In the second half, it was all Westlake as the Lions came roaring back scoring 28 points in the half while Milton would remain scoreless in the final two periods of play. Watch highlights of the Westlake and Milton game now below!
