IMG's 4 Star Recruit Silvio De Sousa Commits To Jayhawks, Headed To Kansas

On Wednesday, four star power forward Silvio De Sousa, out of IMG Academy announced that he would be committing to the Kansas University. At 6-foot-9 and 242 pounds, De Sousa was being sought after by many of the country’s elite college basketball programs including Florida, North Carolina, Illinois, Louisville, Kentucky, Syracuse and more. De Sousa, is considered one of the best power forwards in the class of 2018, made his plans known when he spoke with Journal-World during a flight layover in Germany Wednesday morning. “I felt like that was the place I wanted to be, the culture and the coaches were so great around me,” De Sousa told Journal-World. He went on to add, “that’s one of the things I’ve been looking for and I found that in them.” De Sousa will be playing for his home country Angola in the upcoming FIBA Afrobasket, which will be taking place in Senegal and Tunisia September 8-16.
