Nolan Gomes 4 Touchdowns As Bulldogs Maul Eagles In Dutchtown's 43-0 Win Over Columbia


High school football action continued on Saturday in Atlanta as the Dutchtown Bulldogs hit the road to face the Columbia Eagles and both teams would come into the night's match up with hopes of remaining perfect on the early season. As play got underway, neither team would manage to put any points on the board in the first quarter, but with 6:45 to go in the second quarter, the Bulldogs would strike first after Jonathon Andrews would break through the Eagles defense for an 80 yard rushing touchdown and Dutchtown would take a 7-0 lead.

With time winding down in the first half, the Eagles would manage to take a couple of shots at the end zone but would come up short and have to settle for seven point deficit at the half as the Bulldogs held onto a 7-0 lead heading into the locker room. In the second half, Dutchtown's offense would start to pick things up.

Quarterback Nolan Gomes would get it started for the Bulldogs on a quaterback keeper up the middle at the goal line and Dutchtown would go up 14-0. Later in the third quarter, Gomes would start working it in the air for the Bulldogs, first connecting with Kameron Jones to give Dutchtown a 21-0 lead. In the fourth quarter, Gomes would throw two more touchdowns, one to Fulton Williams and the other to Chris Joyce, as the Bulldogs would go up 35-0.

After a blown punt attempt by Columbia which led to a safety and another rushing touchdown by backup quarterback Arendez Fedd, Dutchtown would go on to win by a final score of 43-0.
