Trojans March To 4-0 Record As Lassiter Defeats The Marietta Blue Devils 37-14
On Friday, the Marietta Blue Devils and the Lassiter Trojans would face off to see who the top team out of Marietta, Georgia would be at the end of the night. The loser of the night's game would also walk away with their first loss of the season as both teams came into the night with 3-0 records.
On the opening kickoff, the Blue Devils would come up big as the Trojans would fumble the ball on the return and the Blue Devils would make the recovery and take possession. On the ensuing drive, Marietta would score courtesy a Austin Cryer rushing touchdown and the Blue Devils would take a 7-0 lead just fifty four seconds into the game.
The Trojans would waste no time responding as Sr. quarterback Bradley Riopelle would march Lassiter down the field and Rioppele would cap off the drive with a keeper up the middle. The Trojans would miss the extra point and trail 7-6. In the second quarter, Lassiter would begin to pour on the offense while the Trojan defense would shut down the Marietta offense. Riopelle would rush for his second touchdown of the game while teammate, Sr. running back Myles Williams would rush for two touchdowns of his own.
The Trojans defense would tack on another touchdown and Lassiter would take a 37-7 lead into the fourth quarter and go on to win by a final score of 37-14. Watch highlights from the game below now!
