War Eagles Soar To Round 2 of GHSA Girls Volleyball Playoffs As Woodward Sweeps Spalding 25-4, 25-8
On Tuesday, round one of the Georgia High School Association Volleyball playoffs got underway as the Woodward Academy War Eagles hosted the Spalding Jaguars in Class 4A action.
As set one got underway, the War Eagles would dominate early jumping out to an 8-0 lead as Lauren Harrison and Kalyn Pierre helped lead Woodward to a 25-4 set one win.
In set two, Spalding would go up by as much as 4-2 in the set but the War Eagles would keep the score close tying the set twice before eventually taking a commanding 12-6 lead and this time Salina Salim would help lead the way as Woodward would take set two 25-8.
The War Eagles would go on to win set three 25-6 to complete the sweep of Spalding and advance to the second round of the GHSA Volleyball Class 4A state playoffs. The War Eagles will face Columbus in the next round of the playoffs. Watch highlights below!
