Loganville Holds Off Arabia Mountain Comeback, Take Game One 6-5, Win Game Two 4-0 To Advance To GHS
The second round of the Georgia High School Association state playoffs got underway on Thursday as the Arabia Mountain Rams hosted the Loganville Red Devils in Class 5A action. The Red Devils would take an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning after a two out two run RBI by Riley Dunn.
In the bottom of the second inning, the Rams would cut into the Red Devil's lead after a two out bases loaded RBI single to make it a 2-1 game in favor of Loganville. In the top of the third inning, the Red Devils would pick up four more runs including RBI singles by Grayson Cruce, Lauren Sommerer, and Hailey Aldridge to make it a 6-1 game.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, trailing 6-2, the Rams would tag on three runs including a two run triple by Auburi Gray and Arabia Mountain would trail 6-5.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Rams would threaten to score to tie and/or take the lead, but with new pitcher, Madison Little, on the mound for Loganville, the Rams would leave two stranded and continue to trail 6-5 going into the seventh inning.
The Rams would eventually drop game one by the same score. Loganville would go on to win game two 4-0 and advance to the third round of the GHSA Class 5A state playoffs. Watch highlights below!
