Bremen's Clements, North Hall's Crow, Westminster Boys And Girls 2017 GHSA 3A Cross Country
On Saturday, the Georgia High School Association continued with day two of the cross country state championships. In Class 3A, the Boy's division would start off the class and midway through the course, Westminster's Will Wallace, East Jackson's Shane Shelafoe, and North Hall's Devon Crow would lead the way as the three runners were neck and neck of each other.
However as the race continued, North Hall's Crow would take a sizable lead going into the final 300 meters of the course and go on to win in a time of 16:26.34 with Wallace taking the second place spot in a time of 16:32.66 and Shelafoe taking the third place spot in a time of 16:38.34. The Westminster Boys would take first in Boy's team with 50 points.
In the Girl's 3A race, Westminster's Naima Turbes would be the leader by the halfway point of the race with Bremen's Grace Clements trailing 30 meters behind in second. Clements would eventually overcome Turbes and take the lead to win in a time of 19:44.68.
Turbes would take the second place spot in a time of 20:12.53 and Turbes' Westminster teammate Delany Graham would come in third place in a time of 20:13.36. Westminster would place in five of the top spots to win the GHSA Girl's 3A title with 25 points. Watch highlights below now!
