Hawks Avoid Blue Devils Come Back As Heritage School Defeats Marietta 52-50, Advances In Tournament

In their opening round match up in the Tournament of Champions Holiday Classic, the Heritage School Hawks faced the Marietta Blue Devils and early on in the contest, the Hawks looked to have things under control early as they jumped out to a 14-5 lead in the first quarter.

The Blue Devils would fight tough in the second quarter to get back in the contest as they would trail 28-27 at the end of the first half. Later in the fourth quarter, the Hawks once again appeared to begin to pull away taking a 48-40 lead but the Blue Devils would outscore Heritage, 10-2 and tie the game up at 50-50 with under two minutes to go in the game.

After taking a 52-50 lead, the Hawks would leave Marietta with five seconds to come up with a tying or go ahead basket but the BLue Devils would fall short and the Heritage School would advance in the winners circle of the tournament. Watch highlights of the game below now!
