Most Ever In Attendance For Big Day of GHSA Wrestling State Championship


On Saturday, the third and final day of the Georgia High School Association wrestling state championships concluded as thousands made their way to the Macon Centerplex making it the largest crowd ever to view the state championship.

The final day of the tournament saw several big wins for individuals including Coffee's John Watts who capped off his season with a 6A 120 weight class win and go undefeated on the season. In 7A 113 weight class, Camden's Tyler Crew picked up his second consecutive state championship with a win over South Forsyth's AJ Riner.

In team results, five of the seven classifications saw repeat champions including Commerce in 1A nabbing their fifth state title, Social Circle in 2A winning their fourth in a row, 4A's Jefferson picking up their fourth consecutive, Buford getting their second in a row in 5A and Camden making it four in a row for themselves in 7A.
