Kendall Johnson, Aubrie Valvo Combine For 11 Goals As Hillgrove Hawks Hand Marist War Eagles First L

On Friday, the Marist Lady War Eagles took their undefeated record on the road and traveled to Powder Springs to face a tough 4-3 Hillgrove Hawks team. The Hawks were coming off their second largest win of the season, a 14-4 victory over Sprayberry, while Marist opened up their season winning their first four matches.

As the game got underway, the Hawks showed no signs of intimidation as they quickly got out to a 4-0 lead including two goals by Arianna Rivera. Marist would eventually get on the board themselves thanks to freshman Ansley Fraundorf and the War Eagles trailed 4-1.

However, the Hawks would not let up on the pressure as they would outscore Marist 8-2 to end the half with an 12-3 lead. In the second half, Hillgrove continued their offensive assault scoring another nine goals and limiting the War Eagles to only three second half points.

Hillgrove's Kendall Johnson would end the night with six goals, four in the first half, and Aubie Valvo would add five goals for the Hawks as they defeated Marist 21-6, handing the War Eagles their first loss of the season. Watch highlights from the game below now!
