Hillgrove Hawks Honor Seniors With 20-9 Win Over Holy Innocents

On a rainy Monday afternoon, the Hillgrove Lady Hawks hosted the Holy Innocents Golden Bears in the final regular season home game of the year. Although the match up was a non region one, the Hawks would be honoring their seniors as it was senior night for several of the Lady Hawks.

As the game got underway, the contest would remain close throughout most of the first half, but the Golden Bears would find themselves holding a 5-4 lead about midway through the period. However, the Hawks would reel off three unanswered goals to take a 7-5 lead into the locker room at the half. Holy Innocents would open up the second half cutting the Hillgrove lead down to one thanks to a goal courtesy of Ashley Patton and the Golden Bears trailed 7-6.

The hawks would in turn respond with back to back goals by Arianne Rivera, who finished with four goals, and Aubrie Valvo, who finished with five goals, to take a 9-6 lead. The Hawks would go on to out score the Golden Bears 11-3 to pick up the 20-9 win. Macy Fulton would also contribute five goals and Kendal Johnson would add three in the win.

After another non region match against the Roswell Hornets later this week, the Hawks will open up the first round of the Georgia High School Association 6A-7A Girls Lacrosse state playoffs against an opponent yet to be determined. Watch highlights from the game below now!
