Creekview Stuns Langston Hughes With 4-2 GHSA 6A First Round Playoff Win

In the opening round of the Georgia High School Association Class 6A boys soccer state playoffs, the Langston Hughes Panthers hosted the Creekview Grizzlies. The Panthers, coming off their only loss of the regular season to Alexander, were looking to get back on the winning track and just 2:52 into the first half got started in the right direction after taking a 1-0 lead off a Zidane Bogie goal.

A short time later, the Grizzlies would respond and tie the game at 1-1 after a Bryce Goodwyn kick would sail just high enough finding its way into the net. The game would remain tied going into halftime. In the second half, it would be the Grizzlies scoring quickly after a failed save attempt by the Panther's goalie would lead to a goal by Lalo Peno and Creekview would take a 2-1 lead just 3:00 into the half.

The Panthers would eventually tie the game up 2-2 at the 22:49 mark of the half after a free kick for Bogie, who would a laser shot past the Grizzlie's wall. As the physical contest continued, the Grizzlies would eventually take a 3-2 lead after a header goal by Daniel Simons with just over four minutes to go in the contest and then with less than a minute to go in the game, a penalty kick by Simons would give the Grizzlies a 4-2 lead and that would be the final score.
