Tate Sutherland, Brady Hanack, 4 Goals Each As Kell Defeats Woodward 12-8 To Advance To GHSA 1A-5A S
On Thursday, the Georgia High School Association 1A-5A boys lacrosse playoffs continued and in a quarter finals match up, the Woodward Academy War Eagles hosted the Kell Longhorns. With the game underway, the Longhorns would hit the board first taking a 1-0 lead after a goal by Brady Hanack.
The War Eagles would waste no time evening things up following a shot by James Mayfield as the score would be tied 1-1. However, the Longhorns offense would heat up and Kell would outscore Woodward 5-2 to close out the first half with Hanack and Tate Suntherland combining for three of the five Longhorns' goals.
As the third period got underway, the War Eagles would score the first two goals of the period to cut the Longhorns' lead to 7-5, but a 4-1 run by Kell would lift them to a 11-6 lead and they would go on to win by a final score of 12-8. Hanack and Sutherland would each score four goals in the win as the Longhorns advance to the GHSA 1A-5A boys lacross semi finals. Watch highlights from the game below now!
