4-Star Defensive Player Derick Hunter Stayin State, Commits To Florida State
Dunbar High School's (Florida) defensive tackle/end Derick Hunter has been offered scholarships from over 40 programs including Texas A&M, Clemson, Michigan, and LSU. But on Wednesday, the 6-foot-4, 276 pound Hunter decided that home is where the heart is and committed to the Florida State Seminoles. Hunter's announcement came while on his visit to Tallahassee, "I felt like it was the right time," Hunter said of his announcement. "The relationship has been there since I was a puppy, this coaching staff has been real with me since day one." At one point, Penn State, Georgia and Florida were high on Hunter's list of consideration but Hunter says the relationship built with him over the years by Seminoles head coach, Willie Taggart and linebackers coach Raymond Woodie, really played a role in his decision to choose Florida State.
