Three Members of Parkview Track Team Qualify For Junior Olympics
Earlier this week, three members of the Parkview Panthers track teamed qualified for the USA Track and Field Junior Olympics after their results at qualifying meets. Brian Hauch, Malik Thompson, and Keith Williams will all be headed to Greensboro, North Carolina to participate in the Junior Olympics, which will be held at North Carolina A&T State University. Last weekend at the region 4 championship meet in Rome, Georgia, Hauch won the pole vault with a post of 15-2 in the 17-18 age group. He also won the event at the state meet two weeks ago. Thompson would win the triple jump in the 15-16 age group after leaping a personal best 47-9 3/4 last week in Rome at the regio 4 championship and two weeks ago won the same event at the USTAF Georgia State championship meet in Carrolton, Georgia. Lastly, Williams would take second place in the 400 meter dash in the 15-16 age group at the state championship two weeks ago and with a time of 48.81, placed third at the region 4 championship last weekend.
