Golden Lions Extend Win Streak To Six As St. Pius X Defeats Woodward 2-0

Riding a five game win streak, the St. Pius Golden Lions volleyball team traveled to face their rival, the Woodward Academy Lady War Eagles. The game would be the War Eagles first home game of the season and they looked to bounce back from their 2-1 loss to Starr's Mill on Wednesday.

In the first set, the Golden Lions would maintain the lead the entire way and go on to win the set 25-15. In the second set, things would start off a little different. Although the Golden Lions held an early 4-3 lead, the War Eagles would score five unanswered points to take an 8-4 lead.

After falling behind 11-6, the Golden Lions would climb back into the contest going on a 7-1 run to take a 13-12 lead, a lead they would never relinquish as they would go on to win the set 25-17 and win the match 2-0. Watch highlights from the game below now!
