Wildcats Bounce Back After Dropping First Set, Wheeler Defeats Westlake 2-1
As the end of the 2018 high school volleyball regular season approaches, the Westlake Lions hosted the Wheeler Wildcats, as both teams looked to end their season on a positive note. In the best of three series, it would be the Wildcats jumping out to 3-0 leas in the first set.
However, a determined Westlake team would go on a 6-0 run to take a 6-3 lead and from that point, would never look back as they would go on to win the set, 25-17. The second set would start off similar to the first as the Wildcats would once again take the early lead as they would go up 5-1.
But the Lions, would rally again and eventually tie up the set at 12-12 and later take a 16-12 lead. As the set continued, the Wildcats would be the ones having to rally and would do just that tying things up at 23-23 and then 24-24.
A great defensive at the net by Tonya Thakker would give Wheeler a 25-24 lead and then a violation on the Lions would give the Wildcats the point and the 26-24 set win. They would go on to win set three for the 2-1 win over Westlake. Watch highlights from the match below now!
