Marist Takes Game Two 7-2 To Even Up Round Two of GHSA 4A Series With Oconee County

As the second round of the Georgia High School Association softball state playoffs got underway, in Class 4A action, the Marist War Eagles played host to the Oconee County Warriors in a rematch from last year's round one match up, in which Marist took the series 2-1.

Similar to the 2017 playoff meeting between the two, the Warriors would take game one by a final of 6-2. Also similar to last year's series would be the outcome of game two, in which, the War Eagles would get the win and unlike last year's close 6-5 final in game two, Marist would hold Oconee to just two runs, while racking up seven of their own to get the 7-2 victory and even up the series.

The two teams will face off on Thursday in a decisive game three to advance to the third round of the GHSA 4A palyoffs. In 2017, it was the War Eagles getting the 6-3 game three win to advance to the second round where they would sweep Central to move onto the championship bracket.
