PSN Spotlight: Walton Raiders Volleyball
When it comes to high school sports, most will tell you that Georgia is a football state...well maybe most. If you ask the ladies of the Walton Raiders volleyball team, out of Marietta, Georgia, and they may see things a little differently. After all, the program has produced twelve state championships including seven under current head coach, Suzanne Fitzgerald, who has helped develop the program and its feeder system into one that has gained national recognition.
In late 2017, after winning their third consecutive state title and finishing 40-1, the Walton Raiders volleyball team was named MaxPreps' 2018 National Champions. We recently got a chance to catch up with the Lady Raiders and speak with Coach Fitzgerald about Walton's success, building a nationally recognized program, and getting ready for the openinig round of the Georgia High School Association state playoffs!
