Chamblee Wins Battle of Bulldogs With 3-0 Win Over Decatur, Advances To Third Round of GHSA Playoffs

As the second round of the Georgia High School Association volleyball state playoffs got continued, the Chamblee Lady Bulldogs took on their cross town rival, the Decatur Lady Bulldogs. The match up would be the second time this year that the two teams met, with Chamblee winning 2-0 back in August.

With advancement to the third round of the GHSA playoffs up for grabs in Tuesday's match up, both teams came out playing tough. In set one, Decatur would take the lead a few times but Chamblee would outscore Decatur 6-4 down the stretch to get the 25-23 win. In set two, Chamblee would lead the entire way but Decatur would keep the score close but eventually drop the set 25-23.

In set three, Decatur would take control early and maintain throughout most of the set and take a 17-11 lead. Despite the deficit, Chamblee would climb back into the set going on an 8-2 run to tie up the set 19-19. The two teams would exchange several lead changes and ties before Chamblee would eventually pick up the 28-26 win in the set and take the match 3-0 and advance to the third round of the GHSA volleyball state playoffs.
