Panther Remain Unbeaten, Captures Region Title As Southwest Dekalb Edges Arabia Mountain 20-19

In Friday Night Lights action, the undefeated Southwest Dekalb Panther faced region rival the Arabia Mountain Rams. Although the Rams came into the night 5-3 overall, they remained unbeaten in region play setting up a winner of the night taking sole possession of first in the Georgia High School Association Class 5A region five standings.

The Panthers would take the early 7-0 lead off a Rion White touchdown pass but on the ensuing kickoff, Arabia Mountain would answer right back tying up the game returning the kick for the score. Later in the second quarter, the Panthers would regain the lead courtesy of a punt return for the score and they led 13-7.

Arabia Mountain would once again tie the game 13-13 when Bryson Williams connected with Corey Rolle for a touchdown and then later in the fourth quarter, Williams and Rolle would connect once again to give the Rams a 19-13 lead. Southwest Dekalb would hang in there and with 1:35 left in the game, White would connect with Jalen Alexander for 35 yard touchdown and the Panthers would go on to get the 20-19 win improving to 9-0 and capturing the GHSA 5A region five title.
