Raiders, Knights, Golden Bears Return To Water In Post Thanksgiving Swim Meet


What better way to work off Thanksgiving meals than a few laps around the pool? On Tuesday, the Riverwood Raiders, Holy Innocents Golden Bears, Grady Knights and a host of several Atlanta Public Schools swim teams were all back in action for a post holiday swim meet.

As the meet got underway, the Raiders would notch wins on both the boys and girls side beginning with the 200 Medley Relay as both Riverwood boys and girls teams would take first and second in the their respective races. Other wins for the Raiders would come courtesy of Kayla Hodge in the Girls 200 Yard Freestyle as she would finish in a time of 2:25.04.

Hodges time would be just eight seconds shy of boy's winner Kevin Lockhart of North Atlanta, who took first in the boys 200 Yard Freestyle in a time of 2:17.41. Lockhart's time would be roughly 17 seconds ahead of the second place finish. In the Boys 200 individual Medley, Riverwood would notch another victory thanks to a dominant performance by Thomas Shannon would came in first in a time of 2:09.26, almost 14 seconds ahead of North Atlanta's Bo Maiellaro who finished in a time of 2:23.81.

Grady's Sophoa Palomino would win the Girls 200 IM in a time of 2:35.30. Another notable win for the Raiders was Cale Martter in the Boys 50 Yard Freestyle, which he would win in a time of 25 seconds flat. Holy Innocents' Ansley Keller would win the event on the girls side in a time of 32.86. Watch highlights from the meet below now!
