Bulldogs Improve To 4-1 Start As Tri Cities Defeats Mays 65-53


On Tuesday, the Mays Raiders boys basketball team hosted the Tri Cities Bulldogs. Both teams headed into the night's match up coming off wins, Mays a 29 point win over Northgate and the Bulldogs, a 20 point win over the Creekside Seminoles.

The Raiders would get out to an early lead in the first quarter, but after trailing 15-12 in the second quarter, the Bulldogs would go on a 10-2 run and take a 22-17 lead late in the second period. Tri Cities would open up the third quarter on another run by the Bulldogs would have them holding onto a 33-19 lead over the Raiders.

However, in the fourth quarter, the Raiders would make a run of their own and eventually cut the Tri Cities lead to 46-42 after back to back three point plays by Marvin McGhee. Despite the late run by the Raiders, Tri Cities, led by captain Titus Hunter (22 points), the Bulldogs would go up 54-46 after an 8-4 run and eventually go on to pick up the 65-53 win to improve to 4-1 on the season.
