Warriors Fight Back As North Atlanta Defeats Alpharetta 65-58 In Key Region Match Up
As the second half of the high school basketball season begins, the North Atlanta Warriors hosted the Alpharetta Raiders in a key region match up. The Warriors would come into the night 11-3 overall and 4-1 in the GHSA Class 6A region seven standings while the Raiders came in at 9-5 overall and 4-2 in the region standings.
The Raiders would open up the first quarter on a 7-0 run before the Warriors would finally get on the board following a basket by Michael Ashley, who would get fouled on the shot and make good on the free throw. After the Warriors would close the gap and trail 9-7 at the end of the opening quarter, North Carolina A&T commit, Brandon Barron (28 points) would lead the Raiders on a 12-4 run and give Alpharetta a 21-11 lead in the second quarter.
The Warriors would respond with a run of their own led by senior, Messiah Thompson (16 points) and close out the third quarter with a 40-37 lead. North Atlanta would hold onto to the lead the remainder of the contest and pick up the 65-58 win. Watch highlights from the game below now!
