NFCA Hold Their Own In Post-Grad Invitational As Titans Defeat Preeminence 45-44
On Sunday, the New Faith Christian Academy Titans took on the Preeminence Cobras in the Litterial Green MLK Invitational for post grad programs. The Titans, the only high school team in the Invitational, came out holding their own as they and the Cobras would trade baskets early on in the first half.
But after being tied at 14 all, the Titans would steal momentum and go on a 15-0 run taking a 29-14 lead. Later in the second half, the Cobras would go on a run of their own and battle back. Down 37-20, the Cobras would out score NFCA 24-8 to get within in, trailing 45-44 with :13 to go in the game.
Preeminence would have possession and on their in bounds play, a deep pass down court would lead to the Titans coming up with the steal. NFCA's Malachi Brown would get fouled and sent to the line for a one and one but would miss on the front end and the Cobras would get the rebound and call time out. With :01.5 to go, Preeminence would get the ball in bounds and take a heave for a the game winner but would come up short and the Titans would get the 45-44 win.
