Rams Remain Game Behind Southwest Dekalb As Arabia Mountain Defeats Lithonia 66-38
On Friday, the Arabia Mountain Rams girls basketball ball team hit the road to take on the Lithonia Bulldogs in a region match up. The Rams, coming off a four game winning streak, would need a win over Lithonia to keep pace with the Georgia High School Association Class 5A region 5 leader Southwest Dekalb Panthers.
Back in December, the Rams fell to Southwest Dekalb 50-36 and will face them in their season finale next Tuesday, so a win on Friday would be a must for Arabia Mountain in order to stay in a position to possibly win or tie Southwest Dekalb in the final region standings. At the start of the match up with Lithonia, the Rams would allow the Bulldogs to take a 4-2 lead but then go on a 10-2 run to close out the first quarter with a 12-6 lead.
In the second quarter, Arabia Mountain would open things up a bit outscoring Lithonia 16-12 to take a 28-18 lead at the half. In the second half, the Rams would start to pull away as they would outscore the Bulldogs 23-11 in the third quarter to take a 51-29 lead and in the fourth quarter Arabia Mountain outscored Lithonia 15-9 to get the 66-38 win. Arabia Mountain's Kennedi Manning would finish with 16 points. Watch highlights from the game below now!
