Blue Devils Advance In Region Tournament As Marietta Defeats North Cobb 46-29 In Opening Round

As the Georgia High School Association region tournaments continued on Tuesday, the Marietta Blue Devils girl's basketball team took on the Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs in the opening round of the GHSA 7A region 3 tournament.

In the first quarter, after trailing 5-3, the Blue Devils would go on a 9-3 run to end the period with a 12-8 lead. In the second quarter, Marietta would open up their offense and go up by as much as 12 points, but the Mustangs would manage to cut the lead down and trail 22-16 at the half.

In the second half, Marietta would begin to pull away as they outscored the Mustangs 14-8 in the third quarter and 8-5 in the fourth quarter to pick up the 46-29 win. Watch highlights from the game below now!
