Panthers Secure No. 3 Seed For State Playoffs As Therrell Defeats Washington 69-45

In Friday's consolation match up of the Georgia High School Association Class 2A Region 6 tournament, the Therrell Lady Panthers and the Washington Lady Bulldogs faced each other for the third time this season.

The Panthers would win both regular season meetings, sweeping the series and looked to secure a number three seed for the state playoffs with another win over Washington. After the Panthers took a 2-0 lead, the Bulldogs would go on a 8-0 run to take a 8-2 lead.

The Panthers however would respond with a run of their own and after taking a 18-14 lead in the second quarter, Therrell would go into the locker room at the half with a 29-20 lead. In the third quarter, Washington would cut the Panthers lead down to six, but Therrell's Shotonna Crocket (27 points) would heat up in the second half and help lead the Panthers to a 69-45 win.
