Lambert Leads The Way As 5 Georgia Teams Make USA Today's Week 3 Regional Girls Soccer Top 10
On Thursday, USA Today High School Sports released their week three regional girls soccer standings. In region two, which consist of Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina, five teams from Georgia made the list of top 10 teams from the region with the Lady Longhorns of Lambert led the way coming in at No. 1. At 13-0 overall, Lambert is the nation's No. 8 team and No. 2 in Georgia according to MaxPreps and have won at least nine games by four goals or more, including a 6-1 win over last season's Georgia High School Association's 7A state runner-up, the Milton Eagles.
Coming in at No. 5 is the GHSA 7A defending champions, the Parkview Panthers. At 14-1-1, the Panthers opened up the season with a 1-1 tie against St. Pius X and then went on a 12 game winning streak before losing 2-0 in Mann (17-1) out of South Carolina. The No. 7 team on the list is the Lassiter Trojans boasting a 14-1 record. After losing their second game on the season to Harrison (No. 10 on the list), the Trojans have won 13 straight including a 3-0 OT win over Milton. At 13-1-1, the Johns Creek Gladiators come in at No. 9. The Gladiators are Georgia's No. 7 team according to MaxPreps and are riding a seven game win streak. Rounding out the list at No. 10 is the previously mentioned Harrison Hoyas. the Hoyas are currently on a five game winning streak.
