Lassiter Wins Statement Area Match Up 13-8 Over Pope

On Friday night, Pope Greyhounds girls lacrosse team hosted the Lassiter Trojans in an area face off. Both teams came into the night with no loses in area play looked to keep pace with the only other area team with no loses, the Walton Raiders.

Within the first minutes of the game Lassiter gets it going, opening up the game on a 2-0 run thanks to goals by Lily Wisdom and Riley Moon. But Pope doesn’t let up, they soon get their offence going scoring three staight goals including back to back goals by Morgan Garrett. Each team would pick up two more goals a piece and go into the half with the score tied up 4-4.

However, Lassiter comes back from halftime stronger than before going on a 5-0 run taking the lead, 9-4. The Greyhounds would eventually get their offense going but Pope would have no answer for Lassiter as the Trojans pull away with the 13-8 win. Watch highlights from the game below now!
