PSN Spotlight: Southwest Dekalb Panthers Football

For the Southwest Dekalb Panthers football team, the 2018 season was one that most high school coaches and players dream to have. The Panthers finished the regular season with a 10-0 record and captured the Georgia High School Association Class 5A Region 5 title in the process. However, as the saying goes, "all good things must come to an end", the end was one the Panthers did not dream of. In the opening round of the GHSA 5A state playoffs, Southwest Dekalb would fall short on their quest for a state championship, losing 14-13 to Loganville. Since that loss, the Panthers have already begun laying the ground work to build off the success of last season by not only highlighting the good, but also the bad. We caught up with Southwest Dekalb at a recent summer workout and spoke with Head Coach, Damien Wimes about their approach for the upcoming season in our exclusive PSN Spotlight, which you can watch below now!
