Dylan Cardwell Heading South To Join The McEachern Indians
If you were wondering what the chances of the McEachern Indians boys basketball team repeating as state champions this upcoming season, you may want to consider them having a high chance of accomplishing that task as three star forward, Dylan Cardwell announced that he will be leaving Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Virginia) and will head to Powder Springs, Georgia to play for the Indians for his final season of high school basketball. “It’s just easier for my mom and grandfather to see me play a lot more,” Cardwell said, adding, “It’s just the best move for my situation,” a situation that has allowed Cardwell to receive a call from the Duke Blue Devils on Wednesday as they expressed their interest in the 6-foot-11 forward. “They told me that they loved how I rebound and block shots at a high rate, finished with both hands and just play high energy ball,” Cardwell said of his talk with the Blue Devils organization. Cardwell currently plays for AOT out of Georgia on the Nike EYBL circuit alongside Sharife Cooper, who he will now play with during the 2019-2020 high school season. “We’ve built a pretty strong chemistry,” Cardwell said about his on the court relationship with Cooper. In the meantime, Cardwell and Cooper are looking to lead AOT to the Peach Jam, which will take place July 10th through July 14th.
