PSN Spotlight: Stockbridge Tigers Football Preparing For 2019 Season
In most cases, the memories of how a previous season ended can remain fresh in the mind for most teams. As is the case for the Stockbridge Tigers football team out of Stockbridge, Georgia. After opening up the 2018 season with a 7-0 record, the Tigers would lose 21-14 to their region rival, Dutchtown. However, following that loss, the Tigers got hot once again racking up another win streak, this time five straight games including three in the Georgia High School Association Class 5A state playoffs, advancing to the semi finals.
In that semi final game though, the Tigers dream of capturing the programs first state title in school history would come to an end as they would fall to Bainbridge 20-19 in one of the wildest finishes seen. Now under the direction of new head coach and former defensive coordinator, Steve Boyd, the Tigers are looking to pick up where they left off, but they know, they are going to have to work harder than ever to make a state championship dream a reality. we caught Stockbridge at a recent passing camp and spoke with Coach Boyd about getting ready for the 2019 season.
