ESPN’s top-ranked girls basketball player for the Class of 2021, sophomore guard at St. John’s College High School in Washington D.C., Azzi Fudd, has won the 2018-2019 ALL-USA Girls Athlete of the Year. This comes for her after winning the ALL-USA Girls Basketball Player of the Year for the same season. This year, she also became the first sophomore and the first player from the D.C. area to win the Gatorade National Player of the Year. All of these accolades came after a season where she averaged 26.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists a game and led No. 2 ranked St. John’s to their third straight WCAC championship and their fourth straight DSAA championship. She also led St. John’s to the Geico National title game, where they fell just short to New Hope Academy.
