Knights Snap Five Losing Streak As Pace Defeats North Springs 4-1
On Monday, despite on and off again rain delays, the Pace Academy Knights softball team hosted the North Springs Spartans as both teams looked to end their current losing streaks. In the top of the third inning, the Spartans would take the go ahead run as Latifa Modesko would connect for an RBI single off Caroline Landis and give North Springs a a 1-0 lead.
The Knights would respond in the bottom of the fourth inning as Madison Hadley would drive a Caroline Berstein pitch deep into center field, bringing in a run. Hadley would try to extend and reach third after an unsuccessful throw to home plate to beat, but would not be able to be the throw to the bag.
However, the Knights would tie the game 1-1. In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Knights would add three more runs to take a 4-1 lead and would get solid pitching from Landis ( six strikeouts) down the stretch to close out the game for the 4-1 win and snap their five game losing streak.
