Woodward Academy Center Walker Kessler Commits To Tar Heels Basketball
This past weekend, five star center for the Woodward Academy (College Park, Georgia) War Eagles basketball team, Walker Kessler, paid an official visit to the University of North Carolina campus. After his visit with the Tar Heels and head coach, Roy Williams, the 6-foot-11 Kessler announced his commitment to play in Chapel Hill.
Initially it was believed that Kessler's top schools were Auburn and Duke, schools he had previously visited along with Michigan, but in the end, Kessler's visit to UNC was one that impressed him enough to make the commitment. It is no surprise, Williams wanted to secure Kessler, who is ranked No. 14 overall in the ESPN 100 and the No. 3 center in the class of 2020, as he had a chance to see the big man's skill set in person during Kessler's junior year at Woodward, a year that Kessler averaged 21 points and 11.9 rebounds per game.
