Lady Astros Back In Region Championship As Douglass Defeats Therrell 67-46

On Thursday, high school basketball region tournaments continued throughout Georgia and in girls Class 2A action, the defending Georgia High School Association Class 2A state champions, the Douglass Astros hosted the Therrell Panthers in their third meeting of the season, with the Astros sweeping the regular season series.

The Astros would get off to a 10-0 run on Thursday, but that would be followed by a 7-0 run by Therrell to cut the Astros lead down to three points as the Panthers trailed 10-7. However, that would be the closet Therrell would get to the Astros as they would be outscored 20-11 by Douglas and trail 30-16 at the half.

Douglass would increase their lead to 21 points by the end of the third quarter and go on to win by that many as they picked up the 67-46 win to advance to the championship round of the GHSA 2A Region 6 tournament. Watch highlights from the game below now.
