Lovejoy Uses Overtime Period To Pick Up 65-62 Win Over Morrow, Advances To Region Title Game

On Friday, as Georgia High School Association region tournaments continued, the Lovejoy Wildcats boys basketball team faced the Morrow Mustangs as the two teams battled for the third time this season in class 6A region 4 action. Early on in the game, Morrow would maintain control and lead throughout majority of the night, going up by as many as nine points.

However, in the fourth quarter, the Wildcats would get a push led by Jamal Reynolds and would tie the game 50-50. Morrow would later go up 53-50 a driving Reynolds would get fouled on a scoring basket and make the free throw to tie the game once again and eventually, the contest would go into overtime. In the OT period, the Wildcats would outscore Morrow 12-9 to pick up the win and advance to the region championship game. Watch highlights from the game below now!
