Norcross Lady Blue Devils Headed To GHSA 7A Second Round After 37-31 Win Over West Forsyth

On Thursday, the Georgia High School Association basketball state playoffs began and in girls class 7A action, the Norcross Blue Devils hosted the West Forsyth Wolverines. Despite the Blue Devils having a size advantage, West Forsyth was able to get momentum flowing in their direction early on as they would connect for three 3-point baskets in route to an 11-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Norcross would get into their groove and open up the second quarter outscoring West Forsyth 9-4 to take an 16-15 lead but the Wolverines would respond with a quick 5-0 run to take a 20-16 lead into the locker room at the half. Out of the break, the third quarter would be a low scoring one but it would be Norcross outscoring the Wolverines 7-0 in the period to take a 23-20 lead heading into the final period of play. The Blue Devils would go on to close out with a 37-31 win to advance to the second round of the GHSA 7A state playoffs. Watch highlights from the game below now!
